Door County Wisconsin

DANNY DEMPSTER
&
HAROLD R. STINNETTE
JUNE 3-7, 2009

WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY NOON

Come explore with us a true Wisconsin gem, Door County. Door County Wisconsin is a 75 mile long peninsula with Green Bay on one side and Lake Michigan on the other. Quaint villages with names like Sister Bay, Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, Baileys Harbor and Sturgeon Bay dot the country-side.  It is a place where history and nature combine for a memorable experience. Foremost on our visit will be Door County痴 10 historic lighthouses. Danny Dempster, an accomplished-professional photographer from Indiana, will lead us to his favorite spots in this wonderful area of the Great Lakes. Danny has photographed two books on lighthouses, Lighthouses of the Great Lakes and Lighthouses of the South, both have sold thousands of copies.

We値l base our trip from the  town of Sturgeon Bay; here we値l be centrally located to all the gems that Door County offers.  Each morning we値l head out to different areas of Door County to photograph one of the picturesque lighthouses, some of the Yellow Lady Slippers that bloom in June or some quaint historic village. Most mornings we値l head out early to catch the best light. During midday we値l have lunch, rest and have a short instructional program. Then we'll change locations for our afternoon shoot.

We値l be with you during all shoots to give you as much or as little help and instruction as you wish. Danny & Harold will be right there with you in the field sharing their experience and knowledge in photography to help you in getting the best possible angle and composition. There are many lighthouse tours that zip you by as many lights as possible in a short amount time but our trip is geared for photography. This means you値l have plenty of time at each lighthouse for photography.

During our trip lighthouses will be our main focus but not our only subjects; other possible photographic subjects include landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, wildflowers (possible Yellow Lady Slipper Orchids) and historic towns and fishing villages. If you are a fan of lighthouses, this is one photography trip you don稚 want to miss!
